A great term for fundraising at Minerva
The children at Minerva have been getting their glad rags on to raise funds for charity this term.
At the suggestion of one of our pupils whose family has been particularly impacted by cancer, the children and staff dressed in green on the last day before half term, and succeeded in raising £150 for Macmillian Cancer Support.
In the second half of term, the children were invited to choose a charity, and voted to raise money for Save the Children. A fancy dress day was held, with prizes being awarded for the most creative costume in each year group. Sadly, there wasn't a prize in the staff category, but we all enjoyed seeing Mr Mallender dressed as a banana! Altogether, £96 was raised for Save the Children.
Mr Beynon said, "It's a real tribute to the generosity of our families in the Minerva school community, that when times are hard for everybody they still dig deep and donate to help other people who are struggling."
